The Black Sassafrass Large Scented Candle by Maison Balzac vividly recalls quiet walks through towering fir needles. A collaboration with Lee Matthews, this is a fragrant reminder of their drives up to Federal near Byron Bay every Christmas. The old road was lined with trees that smelled like these candles. The mix of fir needle, sassafras and bergamot is the closest they could get to replicating that scent.

Care: When lighting for the first time, ensure it is alight long enough for an even wax pool to develop to the edge of the vessel. The first burn is most important as it sets the burn memory. Trim the wick to 5mm before each use.
